Fast-rising musician Ava Peace has opened up about the challenges faced by the new generation of artistes in Uganda’s music industry, revealing that some veteran musicians are sabotaging young talent.
The singer, whose career has been on a steady rise, says several established artistes believe the younger generation should not be given the space to shine.
According to Ava Peace, the industry has become hostile to upcoming stars, with some older artistes refusing to embrace change or support new talent.
“Uganda is so big, everyone can shine. There are many people who can make it — you can’t stop someone who is determined. It’s a different generation; we can’t keep living in the past. Why fight the young generation? There’s a lot they’re doing to stop us,” Ava Peace said during a performance at a Kampala hangout.
Despite the obstacles, Ava Peace remains determined to keep pushing and achieve even greater success in the music industry.
“I will not give up. I’m focused on doing bigger things,” she added.
