Presidential advisor and Ugandan music star Eddy Kenzo has once again fallen short at the Grammy Awards, missing out on the coveted trophy this year.
Kenzo had been nominated in the category of Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammys, but lost to South African singer Tyla, who won with her hit single “Push 2 Start.”
The Big Talent boss was nominated for his song “Hope and Love” featuring Mehran Matin, a track that had raised massive expectations among his fans.
However, when Tyla was announced as the winner, Kenzo’s supporters were left disappointed, though many continue to celebrate the nomination as a big milestone for Ugandan music.
Despite the loss, Kenzo remains optimistic and hopeful for future opportunities on the global stage.
This marked Eddy Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination, with his first one coming in 2023, further cementing his status as one of Uganda’s most internationally recognized artists.
Although the Grammy dream is still alive, fans believe it is only a matter of time before Kenzo finally brings the prestigious award home.
