Ugandan dancehall heavyweight Beenie Gunter is not whispering — he’s roaring.
The self-styled “Guntalk City” boss officially dropped his much-anticipated album, New School Tape, on February 23, 2026 — and according to him, this project is about to shake tables.
The 13-track body of work marks his first major release since 2022, blending raw dancehall energy with maturity, growth, and a refreshed musical direction. It’s Beenie in evolution mode.
International Link-Up with Dexta Daps
To spice things up, the album features a cross-border collaboration with Jamaican dancehall star Dexta Daps, adding global flavor to the project. Since its release, New School Tape has reportedly been performing strongly on digital platforms and gaining traction across the country.
But Gunter isn’t just celebrating numbers — he’s making comparisons.
“It Will Do Better Than Those Released Recently”
Speaking confidently about the album’s reception, Beenie Gunter revealed that the project is already making waves just days after its release.
“I released the album a few days back and it’s already performing well. The reception has been great, and I think people have been missing good music. I believe it will do better than those released in the recent past,” he explained.
While he didn’t directly name names, many fans believe the statement subtly throws shade at fellow industry giants — including Bebe Cool.
