Singer Naava Grey has opened up about why she is highly selective when it comes to collaborations in the music industry.

Known for her unique sound and calm personality, Naava Grey remains one of Uganda’s respected vocalists despite taking occasional breaks from the spotlight.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, the singer explained that her creative process is deeply personal and spiritually guided, which makes her careful about the people she chooses to work with.

“When you are a creative who writes your own music, you naturally become selective because your inspiration comes from a very personal place,” she said.

Naava Grey added that she does not create music under pressure or influence from others, insisting that her journey is guided by faith and self-awareness.

“When you know your God, you understand who you are. You are not supposed to work under pressure from anybody if you truly know yourself,” she added.

The singer’s comments offer insight into why her collaborations are rare despite frequent interest from fellow artistes and fans.
