President Yoweri Museveni, and the appointing authority, visitor of all Universities has ended the fight between Prof. Venansius Baryamureeba and Wasswa Balunywa, by reappointing the latter as Principal of Makerere University Business Schools, MUBS.

The previous few months have seen the two gentlemen go to neck to neck publicly, writing each other letters like Trump and Kim Jon Un, all in the fight for an office Balunywa has been occupying.

Recently, the university council held an emergency meeting, appointing Prof Moses Muhwezi, the Deputy Principal, as acting Principal. This however did not last, after president Museveni’s letter surfaced, directing the first lady and minister of education and sports, Janet Kataha Museveni to immediately re-appoint Balunywa in the same position.

The president in his letter, explained that Prof. Balunywa has always been on the liberation side ideology in addition to being an active administrator. 

“His institution has been free of strikes. I have never found him averse to advice the times I have interacted with him. Such a person is always good to work with” the president concluded his letter.
