Uganda National Bureau of Standards UNBS has confiscated 12,604 pints of expired Agros and PEA juice in Kigoma village, Wakiso district.

According to the standards body, the juices were expired products, while others had dates of manufacture/expiry removed by traders, while others were changed.

“Items used in rubbing and printing dates such as thinner, stencils, ink, towels, sponges among others were identified and retrieved as evidence from the same remises” UNBS writes.

These items have been handed over to police and inquiries opened at UNBS CID Division.

According to the body, the information was a tip off from a member of the public. “We call upon the public to be more vigilant and report such incidents to the bureau” the statement from UNBS says.
