Police in Kampala are investigating circumstances under which six street children were killed in the wee hours of this morning when a wall at Lohana academy, collapsed on them.

The children were sleeping in the trenches when the wall collapsed at 2 am this morning. Fire brigade and police are still on scene trying to rescue more children.

According to Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, two other children were rescued and taken to Mulago hospital for medical attention.

It is still unclear what caused the wall to collapse and Owoyesigire says he will release more details later.
