Police in Kaberamaido District, East Kyoga region have arrested four men following the gruesome murder of two people on Thursday.
 
Police identified the deceased as Moses Kafeero Amooti, a retired teacher, and his nephew Benson Bogere who were hacked by assailants in Kobulubulu sub-county, where they had gone to collect payment of 4.5 million Shillings from the sale of land in Murem Landing Site.
 
The duo was waylaid by assailants around Obajai village, about five kilometres from Kobulubulu trading centre where the attackers used machetes to the end their lives.
 
An eyewitness who preferred anonymity said a group of six people hid in the bush awaiting the arrival of their targets.
 
Enepu P, Oluka J, Okello Sande and Antony Olupot were arrested on Friday from in Nachwebe village, Kobulubulu Sub County after they were identified by some of the survivors and eyewitnesses in the attack, that claimed the lives of their colleagues.
 
The eyewitness says the attackers put logs in the road and as soon as the first motorbike arrived, they jumped to the road, the attackers hit the deceased several times before running away with the money.
 
Michael Odongo the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson says that the practice of waylaying people after such transactions has become rather common in Kaberamaido.
