Kivumbi recently lost the Butambala County parliamentary seat to Eriasa Mukiibi in a hotly contested election.
On voting day, the constituency experienced serious clashes, which reportedly resulted in loss of life and destruction of property.
Police say investigations are still ongoing, and more arrests are expected as authorities work to restore calm and ensure accountability.
