Chairman of The elders’ forum Uganda, Justice James Ogoola has called on the eight presidential candidates to participate in this Friday’s presidential debate, as it is for their own good. Busia, Bugiri, Namayingo.

Justice Ogoola was this afternoon addressing the media in Kampala during the last preparation meeting ahead of January 15th debate.

He believes it’s an opportunity for the candidates to tell the nation what they will do in the next five years.

“And the reason we are putting up this debate, from our point of view, is to bring civility, decency, informed issues, give an opportunity to the candidates to tell the electors of Uganda what your vision is, tell the nation, what your mission for the next five years is, tell the nation what your manifesto is, debate on the issues so that electors can have a basis on which to choose.”

Justice Ogoola says the debate is not about a particular candidate like the incumbent, it’s about what they stand for, what their character is and what they stand for.
