The ruling National Resistance Movement, NRM party has won all woman MP and LC5 seats in the five newly created districts.
Rubanda, Omoro, Kakumiro, Kagadi and Kibaale districts went to polls on Monday to elect district chairperson and woman MPs in an election that has been described as peaceful.
But this morning, the nation woke up to the News of NRM scooping all the seats without leaving any for the opposition.
In Rubanda, NRM’s Prossy Mbabazi Akampurira was declared woman MP elect with 32,700 votes. While Kenneth Jogo Biryabarema took the LC5 chairperson seat with 32,890 votes.
In Omoro, Catherine Lamwaka (NRM) was declared woman MP elect with 10,958 votes.
In Kagadi district, NRM’s Jenipher. K. Mbabazi has been declared winner after polling 42,596 votes.
Also, Mfashingabo Stephen Byaruhanga (NRM) has been declared LC5 chairman elect Kagadi district after polling 28,111.
In Kibaale, NRM’s Erick Gimei won the LC5 seat with 9,637.
And in Kakumiro district, NRM’s John Bosco Ssentahi is the LC5 chairman. He polled 20,748 votes.
