Arely days after the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura informed the country of their progress in the case of Muslim clerics’ murders, the Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate, Dr. Kizza Besigye has demanded that government produces a public report on the killing of different Muslim leaders in the country.
Addressing a rally last evening at Arua Hill Boma Grounds, Besigye told the gathering that Museveni's government should come out openly to explain to who is killing Muslim leaders.
According to Besigye, many others are now living in fear for their lives since government has failed to protect them.
Recently, the newly appointed public relations officer for the Kibuli Muslim faction Sheikh Nooh Muzaata lashed at all presidential candidate for sidelining their issues during campaigns before advising Muslims in the country to vote wisely.
Several Muslim leaders have recently been shot dead in mysterious circumstances in the last one year, without any accountability from government.
Besigye also cited the killing of Muslims in Western Uganda years back, without a clear report produced.
Speaking at a gathering organized by Mufti Sheikh Ramadan Mubajje recently, Gen. Kayihura said they were working closely with the Judiciary to fully prosecute all the suspects arrested in relation to the killings.
