Police fired live bullets and teargas at Makerere University to disperse rowdy students who were pelting stones at them.
The anti-riot police have been deployed at the Ivory tower since the start of this week as students went on strike against the 60% tuition payment policy.
This morning, the strike entered day three, as students dubbed it 'Bloody Thursday Reloaded Extra.'
Shots were this afternoon fired at Lumumba and Mitchell Halls of residence where the boys are kept under house arrest, while the ladies at merry Stuart hall too engaged the police.
Police also rounded up and arrested those wearing the traditional red gowns, prompting the ladies to lose their cool, demanding that their men be released immediately.
A one Pius, chairman University Hall and Katulege chairman Mitchel Hall were also arrested and held at Wandegeya Police Station.
Mary stuart girls were heard crying; "We can afford to take in tear gas with our boys, but taking in Oxygen without them is like breathing in Carbon dioxide."
