And for that matter we have to say, Desire Luzinda is passionate about helping the less fortunate. She has a golden heart of giving. FYI, she has carried out many charity works that are somehow washed away by her endless controversial lifestyle.

However, to all Desire Luzinda fans, we would like to reveal that your favorite singer has donated a whopping 1 million shillings in a drive to save Bamwesigye Raymond whose spine was damaged by thieves

Who is Bamwesigye Raymond? 

 Born to a UPDF Veteran Soldier, Bamwesigye Raymond 24 years old has a sad story to tell, catastrophe befell on his life which is making him unable to walk, write, hold something and has made more than half of his body paralyzed.

He was born to Mr. Paddy Nabimanya who lives in Kasokoso, Kira Municipality Wakiso District. Born with no defect, went to school and has been studying at Makerere University Business School pursuing Diploma in Business Administration when a debacle changed his life and is trying to dictate his destiny.

It was on June 12, 2015 when he was coming from the Internship program that Raymond was attacked by unknown merciless thugs who robbed him and hit him badly. These thugs have now become part of Kampala and have come to be termed as Kifesi with their highest crime acts.

He was rushed to Mulago hospital by, what his defines as, “Good Samaritans” and in Mulago he was admitted to the Spine unit since the doctors found out that his spinal code was damaged which paralyzed the body.

Despite the efforts done by the Mulago Hospital Medical team, after the first surgery, Bamwesigye Raymond only gained use of his upper body but the lower body remained paralyzed and he cannot ease himself, eat, write, walk or do anything using the lower parts of his body.

Raymond needs now a second operation, which by a hair’s breadth be done at Mulago Hospital, the Medical team has advised the Family to fly the once jolly Raymond to India for the second surgery, and has recommended Apollo Hospital in India.

The estimated cost of the whole exercise is USD 13,400 (UGX 46 Million) which the retired army officer cannot raise to save his only son. The family is now appealing to the public for contributions to save the life of Raymond.

 

That aside, Luzinda called on all her fans to come this Saturday for the Charity Car Wash at Panamera Bar to save the life of Raymond.

“I will not be in the country but I have contacted my manager Mr. Lwasa of Lwasa Events to give you 1m as my contribution. Let's play our part and leave the rest to God,” Desire Luzinda said
