Frank Gashumba was granted bail on Monday after being charged with 17 counts relating to fraud and narcotic drugs. His daughter Sheila Gashumba was the happiest after spending days without seeing him. Super excited Gashumba rushed to social media and praised her dad.

“Hey dad, I want you to know that you are a good man and no one should ever make you feel any less or make you feel different!!” she posted.

Gashumba, his brother Innocent Kasumba and a one Ismail Kiyingi were released on Shs 20m not cash. The three had spent a week behind bars and will reappear in court on November 20.

It is alleged that on September 12, at Tulip Golden Hotel in Kampala, the trio with intent to defraud two Dutch nationals Kolgvan Dirutop and Manu Meerscghman falsely presented themselves to be Dr John Mwine, the defence ministry director of procurement whereas not.

It further alleged that on the same day, the trio also conspired to obtain money by false pretence from the duo pretending to offer contracts to them to supply trucks, troop carrier, heavy machines and water tanks among others to the Defence ministry.
