Chameleone has come out for the first time to explain why he refused  to stand as Member of Parliament for Mityana South.

The singer cum politician is said to have been asked by the National Unity Platform to abandon the mayoral aspirations for a parliamentary seat. NUP is said to be willing to back Latif Ssebagala.

Speaking to a journalist, Chameleone said he is not going to allow anyone think for him.

“I am old enough. I make my own decisions. No one is going to decide for me. I am not going to step down. I am not into this to play or to pursue a career in politics. I am here to serve the people of Kampala,”Chameleone explained.

Alternative sources say a secret meeting was held on Tuesday in Kyamwokya and Latif Ssebagala was persuaded to step down for Chameleone. It is alleged that he promised to think about it. We will keep you updated.
