Musician Bebe Cool will be releasing his "Break the Chains" album this weekend, on the 30th of this month. The Gagamel boss has spent days inviting various Ugandan artists to listen to the album and share their views about it ahead of its release.
Among the people who listened to the album before its release is fast-rising musician and fashionista Elijah Kitaka. Elijah expressed happiness at the invitation and gratitude for the recognition from Bebe Cool.
“As an upcoming artist trying to make my way in the industry, I’m happy that he’s recognized me,” he said in the video.
The "Ekyange" hitmaker praised Bebe Cool for the originality of the Ugandan sound despite targeting different audiences. "I love the originality of the album because it still has the originality of Uganda, the progressions, the melodies..." he explained.
He also called upon fellow artists to deliver quality music to their fans, arguing that they ought to take the direction Bebe Cool is taking.
"Even though we are trying to go global, we still have the originality in the album. I love the quality of the album, and I think it's the direction which every artist should take," he added.
Bebe Cool's "Break the Chains" album was produced in Nigeria, with its mastering and additional works done in South Africa and the United Kingdom. The Gagamel boss believes the album will open doors for Ugandan music on the international stage. He wants to do it to inspire other artists to make the same investment for the betterment of the industry.
