Evelyn Lagu’s son, Freddie Kasavu, is facing a wave of criticism online for his plan to sell his mother’s home.

In a recent YouTube interview, Freddie explained that the decision isn't about disrespecting his mother's legacy but is a practical choice for his future.

Freddie said the house, located far from the city, is a major obstacle for a young man trying to build a career.

“I want to be close to town because I cannot handle staying that far,” he explained.

He noted that the location worked for his mother, who was an established artist, but for him, a young man trying to make a living, it’s not a viable option.

The decision is especially difficult because the house meant so much to Evelyn. Before her death from kidney failure, she expressed her deep desire for the home to be her son’s legacy. She saw it as a crucial starting point for Freddie.

For 20-year-old Freddie, life since his mother’s passing has been tough. He has openly battled mental health issues and drug abuse, and recently left rehab. His desire to sell the house seems to be part of a larger plan to rebuild his life on his own terms.
