Musician Moses Saali, also known as Bebe Cool, focused this year on taking Ugandan music to the international scene.
He released the "Break the Chains" album in May of this year and embarked on a media tour in Kenya, Tanzania, and the United Kingdom.
Different musicians criticized him, and many have called on him to invest in young musicians instead of focusing on himself.
Navio, however, believes otherwise. He says Ugandan musicians should join Bebe Cool and work to reach international audiences.
He explained that "breaking the chains" will require more than just Bebe Cool to take Ugandan music to the international scene.
He says that working as a unit brings more progress to the creative industry than a single person working alone.
He praised Bebe Cool and Joshua Baraka for working on a music project together and says such collaborations will be good for the industry.
"We need numbers; we need everyone to get up and 'break the chains.' We need to walk through this as a unit. We can do it as a unit, but not by leaving it for one person. It's very hard to 'break the chains' alone because I have done it before, and I understand the dynamics. We should strive as a collective to break the glass ceilings. The young ones should team up with the old generation, just like Bebe Cool and Joshua Baraka," he explained.
