Minister of State for Energy and Minerals Phiona Nyamutoro has opened up about how she manages to balance her demanding political career with family life, describing it as both tedious and fulfilling.

Nyamutoro, who is traditionally married to award-winning singer Eddy Kenzo, introduced him to her family in 2024 in Kampala. Since then, the couple has been admired for how they juggle their respective careers while maintaining a strong bond.

Speaking about the challenges of balancing her roles as a minister, member of parliament, and wife, Nyamutoro admitted that the process requires intentional effort and discipline.

“The honest truth is, striking a balance between work, constituency, and family is very tedious,” she said. “It’s manageable, but it comes with a lot of effort and being intentional.”

Nyamutoro credited her ability to manage it all to the strong support system she has built around her — both at home and at work.

“Luckily for me, I have a good support system in all aspects,” she explained. “My husband is very supportive, my family too, and at the workplace, I have a reliable team. My work never stalls even when I’m not physically present.”

The minister emphasized the importance of teamwork and structure, revealing that she has dedicated teams in her family, constituency, and office who help her stay efficient and focused.

Nyamutoro’s remarks come as she continues to gain praise for her commitment, leadership, and ability to balance public service with personal life — a quality that has made her one of the most respected young female leaders in Uganda’s government today.
