Musician Ronald Mayinja has once again taken aim at Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, saying the National Unity Platform (NUP) president lacks the political maturity and capability required to lead the country.

The pair has spent over five years clashing publicly, especially after Mayinja openly shifted support to President Yoweri Museveni, a decision that sparked tension between him and Bobi Wine’s camp.

Speaking in an interview with a local YouTuber, Mayinja claimed Uganda would regress if Bobi Wine ever became president, arguing that the opposition leader has failed to present a clear and focused agenda for the nation.

“The country would go backwards if Bobi Wine is elected the President. He hasn’t matured enough to be a President, he has no focus and can’t do anything good for the country. He is just focusing on minors instead of presenting his manifesto to the citizens,” Mayinja said.

Mayinja further stated that Bobi Wine spends more time involved in conflict than addressing national development issues.

The singer, who is currently mobilizing support for President Museveni in the Busoga subregion, suggested that Bobi Wine should instead consider taking up a ministerial position under President Museveni if he wishes to contribute effectively to leadership.

Mayinja’s comments have already stirred debate among supporters of both political sides, intensifying political tensions ahead of the coming election season.
