Businesswoman Irene Mirembe, the proprietor of Mirembe Beddings, has finally broken her silence following reports linking her to a romantic relationship with Yusuf Nkerettanyi, the MP-elect for Kalungu East Constituency.

Earlier this week, social media was awash with claims suggesting that the two were involved in a secret “bonking” relationship, sparking widespread gossip and speculation.

However, Mirembe has come out to clear the air, insisting that she is only friends with Nkerettanyi and that there is nothing romantic going on between them.

In an audio clip currently making rounds online, Mirembe revealed that she shares a long history with the NUP politician, dating back to the early days of her business.

She disclosed that Nkerettanyi once supported her financially by investing UGX 10 million as startup capital and also helped her with rent when she was just starting out.

According to Mirembe, their relationship has always been strictly business and friendship, with Nkerettanyi even supplying her with goods on credit.

“Whatever else you are hearing is not true, it is false. I have known Nkerettanyi for years. He has been my friend and even used to give me goods on credit. I would sell and then return the money. He even contributed ten million shillings for rent when I was just starting,” Mirembe explained.

So far, Yusuf Nkerettanyi has remained silent on the allegations, choosing not to publicly respond to the claims.

The story has continued to trend online, with many netizens divided between believing Mirembe’s explanation and insisting there is more to the relationship.
