Former model Doreen Kabareebe has credited the church for shaping her character and guiding her into the woman she is today.
Speaking during an interview with a local TV station, Kabareebe said she strongly believes parents should introduce their children to religious life at an early age, noting that it plays a key role in mentorship and moral upbringing.
The ex-model revealed that she personally grew up in church, a background she says helped her navigate her youthful years and avoid many mistakes that often trap young people.
“I grew up in church and it helped me a lot. That’s why I encourage parents to introduce their children to a religious life early. Church teachings and beliefs are very vital, and they helped me so much during my youthful years,” Doreen explained.
Kabareebe added that religious values instilled in her helped her make better life choices and stay grounded despite pressures that come with fame and public life.
She also advised young girls to remain under their parents’ care until marriage, saying it offers protection and guidance in a world full of risks.
“Don’t rush to leave your parents’ home. Stay there until marriage. Living under strict parental guidance reduces the chances of anyone taking advantage of you,” she added.
Her remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising her for promoting discipline and family values, while others argue that independence is equally important for personal growth.
