Hajat Kulthum Nabunya has confirmed that she has remarried, revealing that her marriage to Akram Gumisiriza officially ended last year following a divorce under Islamic law.

The media personality shared the update on social media, posting a verification letter for her divorce certificate issued through the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council's Directorate of Sharia to confirm that her previous marriage had legally ended.

According to Nabunya, she later accepted a marriage proposal from her current husband, and the couple held a private Nikkah ceremony attended by close friends and family.

"Just to remind bloggers please I told you that I and Mr Gumisiriza were no longer husband and wife. I filed my divorce and was successfully attained last year. Meanwhile an angel I had never met on earth came to me and gave me a marriage proposal that I accepted. We had our Nikkah with a few friends and family so at this moment I just add my voice to others to say congratulations Daddy Junior enjoy your world. Naffe eno tuli busy," she wrote.

Nabunya also congratulated her former husband as he begins a new chapter in his life, saying she wishes him well following the end of their marriage.

Her statement appears to put to rest speculation surrounding her marital status while confirming that both she and Gumisiriza have moved on.
