Political and social commentator Frank Gashumba has revealed that he warned his wife, Patience Mutoni Malaika, that he would leave home if their relationship became a source of constant stress.
Speaking in an interview with a local radio station, Gashumba said he wants his home to be a place of peace and comfort after dealing with work and business-related pressures.
“I even warned Malaika that if she stressed me, I would abandon her and go somewhere else. I want when I return home, I return to peace and comfort. A home must be a place where I can relax,” he said.
Gashumba explained that he values peace in his marriage and would rather leave the home than remain in an environment he considers stressful.
“The reason I got married to Malaika is peace. If she doesn’t bring me peace, I will leave. When I’m home, I am the Musuuga. If I leave, she is the deputy Musuuga,” he added.
Gashumba also revealed that his father warned him against marrying more than one wife, saying he had witnessed the challenges that can come with relationships.
“My dad warned me never to marry more than one wife, and I know what he went through. I can’t handle the stress that is brought by women,” he said.
He further advised men to consider peace and compatibility when choosing their partners, arguing that home should provide a comfortable environment away from the pressures of everyday life.
