Socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has urged women not to dismiss men simply because they are financially struggling, saying some relationships require partners to build their success together.
Zari noted that women are often encouraged to seek financially stable men who can provide them with a comfortable lifestyle. However, she believes this advice overlooks the possibility of finding someone with whom they can grow and achieve their goals.
Drawing from her own experience, Zari cited her relationship with the late businessman Ivan Semwanga, saying their journey showed that couples can build a life together rather than waiting for one partner to have everything in place.
“Sometimes you're not going to find that guy. Sometimes you're going to find your person and build. And that's what I did with Semwanga,” she said.
The businesswoman cautioned women against judging men solely by their financial status, arguing that a lack of money does not necessarily mean someone is unworthy of a relationship.
“Don't look down on broke men. They are people; some of them are worthy of the time. Give them a chance,” she added.
Her remarks encourage women to consider a partner's potential and the possibility of building a future together, rather than focusing exclusively on what a man can provide financially at the beginning of a relationship.
