Exclusive information we have landed on is that Zari’s mum died on Wednesday but was announced dead on Thursday for reasons only known to the family and doctors at Nakasero Hospital.
However, word reaching us is that doctors had refused to release the body of the late because of unpaid debts. The management of the hospital wanted the family of Zari to first clear a debt mounting to 12m.
It is said that city tycoon, Godfrey Kirumira mobilised different people and later raised the money. Kirumira and the late Ivan Ssemwanga were quite close. In the process, she became close with Zari’s mum and her daughters. On Ivan’s burial, Kirumira was in charge of uniting the family of Zari and Ivan when they disagreed on property sharing and managements.
