Bobi Wine was arrested early this week in Arua on cases related to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Since his arrest, many have condemned his arrest referring to it as 'not right' while others have branded it interception of freedom since he did not appear in court within the time range dictated by law.
Among the many that condemned his arrest are fans, family and general public but the most notable one is Buganda premier Charles Peter Mayega.
Howwe has learnt that premier Charles Peter Mayega has called for immediate justice through parading Bobi Wine and his Hon. Zaake.
Through one of his social media platforms, Mayega posted, " I appeal to the government to present Hon Francis Zaake and Hon Robert Kyagulanyi was also known as Bobi Wine and all the others arrested to a competent court of law with incontestable evidence and tried for any crimes they may have committed. Media reports indicate that Hon Zaake and Hon Kyagulanyi have been severely tortured while in custody of security agencies. I appeal to all security agencies to desist from acts of torturing people in their custody. I appeal to them to respect the dignity and the human rights of those in custody,” stated Buganda Kingdom’s Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga."
Premier Charles Peter Mayega is not the first to demand the release of Bobi Wine. The likes of Eddy Kenzo, Jose Chameleon and many more have openly demanded the release of the Kyadondo traffic.
We shall keep you posted
