Musician Priscilla Zawedde, also known as Azawi, is a darling of the opposition and has often found herself at the forefront of criticizing the government this year.

In a recent interview with a local television station, Azawi praised Bobi Wine for being a great inspiration to youths across the country and for using music to bring about change in people's lives.

Azawi explained that before Bobi Wine joined politics, people from the ghetto were never appreciated or valued, but that's no longer the case.

"He’s brave and has used music to change the lives of so many people. He has made young people believe in themselves. Back then, they never believed in us, the ghetto people, but he painted a different picture about the ghetto," she explained.

The Swangz Avenue hitmaker also praised the late Mowzey Radio, revealing he is her biggest musical inspiration.

"My personal inspiration was a musician, Mowzey Radio, but he died. I was young and I didn’t understand some things he sang, especially when they were starting out, but his songs were memorable in my mind, so I grew up on his music," she added.

Azawi is currently one of the biggest female musicians in the country and the East African region as a whole.
