Former Kawempe South MP and presidential candidate Mubarak Munyagwa has accused Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, of turning his political rallies into music concerts.
According to Munyagwa, the large crowds that gather at Bobi Wine’s campaign trails are not necessarily supporters of his political agenda, but rather fans attracted by the star-studded line-up of musicians who accompany him.
"Kyagulanyi has a full team of musicians who can organize a concert anywhere they go. He is also a musician, and his deputy, Nubian Li, is one too. So it’s easy for them to attract crowds," Munyagwa said during an interview with a local TV station.
Munyagwa downplayed Bobi Wine’s political influence, arguing that the excitement surrounding his rallies is driven by entertainment rather than policy or leadership potential.
He, however, noted that his real concern lies with President Museveni’s power and resources, not Bobi Wine’s popularity.
"I’m not afraid of Bobi Wine. I only fear President Museveni because of his army and money," he added.
