Musician Bebe Cool has landed in fresh controversy after allegedly making derogatory and demeaning remarks about Prince Kassim Nakibinge, the titular leader of Muslims in the Buganda Kingdom.
The comments have sparked outrage within religious and cultural circles, prompting Latif Ssebagala to publicly demand an immediate apology from the Gagamel boss.
According to Ssebagala, Bebe Cool’s remarks were not only disrespectful to Prince Nakibinge personally but amounted to an attack on Muslims across Uganda and the Buganda Kingdom as a whole.
“You need to apologise for making attacks against the supreme head of Muslims in Buganda Kingdom. This is an attack against us Muslims and all Islamic believers in Uganda. Attacking him was a serious mistake, and you need to apologise for your own good,” Ssebagala stated.
He further accused the singer of being unappreciative of Prince Nakibinge’s contribution to the social and economic development of Buganda and the country at large.
In a striking personal twist, Ssebagala revealed that Bebe Cool’s own family was reportedly unhappy with his conduct.
“Even your own father did not take those comments lightly,” he added.
As of publication, Bebe Cool has remained silent on the demands, fueling further debate across social media, where religious leaders, cultural commentators, and music fans continue to weigh in on the growing storm.
Whether the singer will bow to the pressure and issue a public apology remains to be seen.
