Veteran legislator Ibrahim Semujju Nganda has conceded defeat after losing the Kiira Municipality parliamentary seat, bringing to an end his 15-year tenure in Parliament.

Semujju, who has represented Kiira Municipality since 2011, is widely known for his outspoken stance against corruption, governance failures, and his sharp criticism of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s administration. He also serves as the spokesperson of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF).

However, the seasoned politician suffered an unexpected setback in the recently concluded elections after being defeated by National Unity Platform’s George Musisi.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Semujju admitted that the loss caught him by surprise, noting that his campaign experience had given him confidence of victory.

“When I campaigned, I thought I would win, but when the results came out, I lost — and I concede,” Semujju said.

Despite the defeat, the veteran politician insisted that his commitment to the struggle for democracy and freedom remains unchanged, even outside the walls of Parliament.

“I will continue making contributions to the struggle for freedom, but this time outside Parliament,” he added.
