Speaking during an interview with a local YouTuber, the singer clarified that while she respects many female musicians as colleagues, she does not consider them personal friends.

“I really don't have female friends. I just respect them as my colleagues. I can talk to Jazmine and a few others but not really that friendship,” she explained.

Shakira, however, noted that she shares cordial relations with some female artistes, including Lydia Jazmine, though she insists the connection remains professional rather than personal.

The singer added that most of her close friendships in the industry are with male artistes. She mentioned names such as Rodgers Kabuye (Kabako), Jose Chameleone, Eddy Kenzo, and Daddy Andre among those she considers friends.

Her remarks have since sparked conversations about friendships, competition, and trust within the music industry.
