Uganda’s former Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, is reportedly facing health complications and may need urgent medical attention, according to Kampala Central Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko.
In a video circulating on TikTok, Nsereko claimed that Anita Among is battling a blood clot and is in need of specialised treatment.
He alleged that the former Speaker has developed swollen feet and is currently unable to walk while staying at her residence in Nakasero.
Nsereko expressed concern that her condition could worsen if she does not receive urgent medical care.
“Right Honourable Anita Among is very sick. She can’t walk and has swollen feet. She has a clot and is in a very bad condition. I don’t know how long she can survive without receiving treatment,” Nsereko said.
The claims, however, remain unverified, and Anita Among or her representatives have not publicly commented on the matter.
Anita Among has in recent months faced corruption-related allegations linked to Parliament and remains under close public scrutiny.
