Musician Ronald Alimpa has appealed for help to acquire a car after receiving overwhelming support from well-wishers following his recent public plea about his difficult living conditions.
After his release from jail, where he had been detained over allegations of public nuisance, Alimpa revealed that he lacked basic household necessities and did not even have a place to stay.
His appeal touched many Ugandans, who came together to donate essential household items, including chairs, a television, and other necessities. The singer has also secured a new home along Salama Road.
Speaking about his new accommodation, Alimpa said he opted for a double room because he has never been accustomed to living in a single room.
"I got a double room because I've never slept in a single room, and I don't think I can start now," Alimpa said.
Despite the support he has already received, the singer said his next dream is to own a car. He explained that he has never been able to replace the vehicle he lost in a tragic road accident about two years ago.
"I hope someone can also help me with a car because I lost mine in the accident, and I've never managed to replace it," he said.
His latest appeal has sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users criticized him for asking for more soon after receiving assistance, others defended him, arguing that there is nothing wrong with expressing another genuine need.
