Nalongo Kiweesi, the widow of the late dancehall singer AK47, has reportedly passed away after a period of illness. She is said to have died at Mengo Hospital.
According to reports, Nalongo Kiweesi had been battling a cancer-related illness, although her family has not yet officially confirmed the cause of death.
She was the mother of AK47's twins, Connie and Canaan. Following the singer's untimely death, Nalongo devoted herself to raising the children while maintaining a close relationship with the Mayanja family.
Having spent much of her life in London, she frequently returned to Uganda to ensure her children remained connected to their father's family and heritage.
Although she largely stayed out of the public eye, Nalongo later made headlines following her relationship with dancehall singer Rabadaba. The two held a colorful traditional marriage ceremony, but their relationship later ended.
Their separation attracted public speculation, including unverified claims that Rabadaba had entered the marriage to obtain settlement documents in the United Kingdom before relocating there.
News of Nalongo Kiweesi's reported passing has shocked Uganda's entertainment fraternity, with friends, fans, and well-wishers sending condolences to her family and the children she leaves behind.
The family is yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of death or burial arrangements.
