Musician King Saha has ruled out any possibility of a musical battle with Western Uganda star Ray G, insisting that the two artistes should not be turned into rivals.
The two musicians recently found themselves at the centre of public comparisons after staging successful concerts at Kololo Independence Grounds.
Ray G held his concert at the venue last month, attracting a large crowd, before King Saha followed with his own show shortly afterwards.
The timing of the concerts sparked debate among music fans, with some viewing the two events as a competition between the artistes.
The comparisons have also been linked to their different political associations, with Ray G publicly associated with the National Resistance Movement (NRM), while King Saha has expressed support for the National Unity Platform (NUP).
However, Saha says he does not view Ray G as a competitor and urged fans not to allow differences in opinion or regional identity to create unnecessary divisions among artistes.
“Ray G is my brother. I cannot battle him. In life, we meet people with different opinions. We learn from each other and get to understand one another, but that does not mean we should reject them,” he said.
Saha encouraged people to remain true to themselves and avoid allowing public opinion to determine who they should associate with.
The singer's comments come amid growing comparisons between the two artistes following their successful concerts at the same venue.
