Musician Sheebah Karungi has opened up about an emotional moment in her life after her son Amir started preschool, revealing that the experience brought back memories of her own childhood.
The singer shared her emotions on social media after watching her son begin school, saying the presence of his father, Jaffar Suleiman, made the milestone particularly meaningful.
According to Sheebah, Jaffar extended his flight so he could personally be present to take Amir and his sisters to school, an act she said touched her deeply.
Sheebah revealed that growing up without a father or father figure made the moment even more significant for her.
“There are some things that heal you in ways you can't explain. As a girl who grew up without a father or a father figure, watching my son have a father who genuinely loves being a dad, shows up, and enjoys fatherhood so effortlessly… heals something in me,” she wrote.
The singer also expressed gratitude to God for giving her blessings she once could not have imagined, describing Amir's first day at preschool as an emotional and memorable experience.
Sheebah and Jaffar Suleiman are the parents of Amir, and the singer has indicated that she will share more about the experience on her show, Let's Talk About It.
For Sheebah, the milestone was not only about her son's first day at school but also about witnessing him experience the kind of fatherly presence she says she missed while growing up.
