Media personality Doreen Nasasira has shared her views on 50-50 relationships, saying financial contributions should come with an equal sharing of household responsibilities.
Doreen said she would not embrace a relationship where a man expects expenses to be split equally while leaving domestic responsibilities to the woman.
According to her, a genuine 50-50 arrangement should involve both partners contributing to childcare, cooking and other responsibilities at home.
“If we do 50-50, according to me, if I’m bathing the kids, you should be in the kitchen. If I’m cooking, take care of the kids and play with them,” she said.
Doreen argued that couples should genuinely share responsibilities instead of one partner handling most household duties simply because the other contributes financially.
She further advised men who are unwilling to participate in domestic responsibilities to embrace the traditional role of providing for the family.
“If you don’t want to be despised, make money as a man or stay single,” she said.
Doreen also encouraged women to prepare their daughters for the realities of relationships, particularly when dealing with partners she described as unwilling to contribute towards building a home.
“Train your kids how to survive with these men who are lazy and how to build them,” she added.
