Music duo Kataleya and Kandle have revealed that one of their biggest musical ambitions is to collaborate with singer-turned-politician Bobi Wine.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, the duo were asked which artistes they would most like to work with, and Bobi Wine emerged as their top choice.
“The people we want to work with all left music. We would really love to work with Bobi Wine, but unfortunately he is no longer doing music,” Kataleya said.
The duo have previously collaborated with several established artistes, including Fik Fameica, Vinka, Tracy Melon and Dokta Brain.
According to the singers, their successful collaborations have largely grown out of personal friendships, which make the creative process easier.
Kandle explained that they prefer working with artistes they already know and have a good relationship with before entering the studio.
“We have so far not collaborated with people we do not relate to. We work with our friends; this makes it easier. All of them became our friends before the collaborations, so by the time we met for the songs, it was easy. Those collaborations come from friendships and not randomly. They all made it easy because they were our friends,” Kandle said.
Although a collaboration with Bobi Wine remains a dream for the duo, his reduced involvement in music presents a challenge to making it happen.
