National Environment Management Authority, NEMA and Uganda Olympic Committee have this morning signed a memorandum of understanding, MOU to use sports in promotion of sustainable use of environment.

The new association will see the two use their themes athletes to help protect the environment.

Dr. Tom Okurut, the NEMA executive director says, "We want to use Sports to deliver our message & hopefully use an athlete as an ambassador."

Uganda Olympic Committee will also use athletes as ambassadors for promoting sustainable initiatives.

William Blick, the president Uganda Olympic committee says; "Olympic athletes are role models & can be used to preach the message of protecting the environment.”
