Opposition leaders have vowed to remove the Mukono Municipality MP Betty Bakireke Nambooze out of Kiruddu hospital to her home.
Nambooze has been hospitalized at the facility for over a week now after she fell ill in police custody at Naggalama police station, where she was being held in relation to the murder of former Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga.
Nambooze is wanted for alleged incitement.
The MP who was expected to fly to India on Saturday June 16th was blocked by police, who instead took her to Kiruddu hospital in Makindye.
However, Ssemujju Nganda, the FDC Party spokesperson says they have agreed to go to the facility tomorrow and forcefully get her out.
“We have taken a decision with our colleagues; I was with the Lord Mayor and others this morning. Tomorrow at 11am we will go to Kiruddu and remove hon. Nambooze from that facility. If they want all of us to die from there, we will be ready to do so. But we will take her back tomorrow to her home. We shall invite priests and reverends to go and pray for her” Ssemujju told Journalists this morning.
The MP said after getting Nambooze home, they will wait for the Almighty God to make a decision as there is no medicine in Uganda.
“If Museveni wants Nambooze to die, she can as well die in her home. Because you can’t pretend that you are treating someone when you are not. Police had issued her bond, now Museveni says bonds can only be issued in state house” He added
