Residents of Buyisa village, Kilumba subocunty in the district of Kyotera are in shock after one of their own, also a teacher at Buna Primary school in Kynamukaka sub county, Masaka district drowned.

The deceased has been identified as Sadat Ssentumbwe, who had allegedly gone to visit his uncle in Kiruhura during the festive season.

Waswa Ziritwawula, the deceaseds father says his son had gone to have some fun at Kakyera lake along with his colleagues before their canoe developed a problem and they all fell into the water.

However, everyone else was able to swim to the shores for survival, Ssentumbwe was unable to. According to Nabakooza Josephine the Kilumba sub county in Kyotera, the killer boat was very old and in a sorry state. 

Fishermen and authorities are struggling to retrieve the deceaseds body. 
The tragedy comes barely a month after over 30 people perished in Lake Victoria when the boat they were partying on capsized. The boat owners perished in the same tragedy.
