The Minister for KCCA Hon Beti Kamya has this morning launched the 5th Edition of Kampala City Festival 2016 under the theme; “Black Yellow Red.”
This year’s festival will take place on 2nd October 2016.
During the launch, minister Kamya festivals bring out adventure, innovation and more in people and she was excited to be a part of this year’s carnival.
Kamya thanked the KCCA executive director Jennifer Musisi and her team for the job well done in bringing together the residents of Kampala and its surroundings.

The KCCA ED Jenifer Semakula Musisi explained that a balance of 16.7 million was realized from last year’s festival and the authority is using it to fence Nakivubo Blue Primary school.
According to Musisi, the school faces lots of challenges from goons who are harbored by the Nakivubo channel. According to Musisi, these goons were attacking pupils and teachers on their way from and to school.
Fencing of the school was not in the original budget of Kampala capital city Authority.
Deputy Lord Mayor, Sarah Kanyike, who spoke on behalf of her boss, Erias Lukwago thanked the ED for coming up with such a uniting and brilliant idea of the Kampala City Festival. “Kampala City Festival unifies communities regardless of political shades or backgrounds” said Kanyike.
