Ugandan women of voting age (18 and above) will on 3rd July 2018 go to polls to elect the Women Councils. 

Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party member, Catherine Achola Osupelem, has been officially nominated to contest for the Pallisa District Woman Parliamentary Seat.

Forum for democratic change FDC party has proven to be the most popular party in Rukungiri after beating the ruling National Resistance Movement, NRM to take the district woman MP slot.

Voting is underway at all 280 polling stations in the 16 subcounties that make up Rukungiri District. The district has 177,086 registered voters.

Ms. Winfred Matsiko Komuhangi, will have no excuses if she loses the District Woman MP slot, after President Yoweri Museveni traversed Rukungiri District on Tuesday, canvassing support for the NRM flag bearer.

President Yoweri Museveni has today also started canvassing for votes for the National Resistance Movement flag bearer, Winfred Matsiko Komuhangi.

The NRM party's deputy electoral commission chairperson, John Arimpa Kigyagi declared Alupo winner after she garnered 34,580 votes against Kaala's 26,995 and Ibaseret’s 11,058 votes.
