Not many people get the chance to be leaders of high end institutions at a tender age of 22. To many it’s just a dream to be in a leadership position in the first place. But Keith Mugabi is living his dream having been elected the guild president of high flying Victoria University. Mugabi in December last year became the second guild president of the Jinja road based university.

“I have always seen leaders and judged them for the decisions they have made but being guild president has opened my eyes not to make decisions based on only feelings but also facts and considering other people’s opinions. I have met people who I can change my life. I feel the joy that I have been to serve as guild president,” Mugabi said in an interview.

The former student of Kabojja Junior, Bishop Cypriano Kihangire, Seeta High and Turkish Light Academy is currently a second year student of information technology. As a university that is still young, Mugabi has faith in the potential of his university.

“I joined Victoria University because it offered me what I wanted in a university. All the schools I went to, are not upscale, but they offered me quality education. I believe Victoria University has the right facilities, environment and education that I wanted.” Mugabi explained.

Victoria University has cut a niche as a leading urban university that priorities research, student welfare and state-of-the-art learning facilities. The university offers a wide range of marketable courses tailored for the market, we encourage innovation and creativity through research.

According to the Vice Chancellor Stephen Isabalija, the academics at Victoria University have rich collaborative relations with global scholars with whom they share a commitment to advance knowledge and address challenges in areas as diverse as Public Health, Business Management and Science and Technology.
