Singer King Saha has taken a swipe at veteran rapper and music critic Viboyo Oweyo, dismissing him as a “mad man” in a lighthearted but pointed exchange.
The exchange followed comments from Viboyo, who has increasingly weighed in on Uganda's music industry and broader social issues.
Viboyo, the brains behind the annual Rap Up, had earlier challenged Saha to use his relationship with influential figures to push for the release of political prisoners.
He specifically tasked the singer with speaking to Gen. Salim Saleh about the matter.
Saha, however, appeared unimpressed by Viboyo's remarks and responded with the blunt description, branding the veteran rapper a “mad man.”
Viboyo Keeps Stirring the Pot
Viboyo has remained one of Uganda's outspoken voices in the hip-hop and entertainment space, regularly commenting on the careers of artistes and developments within the industry.
His latest remarks to Saha come at a time when the singer is enjoying heightened attention following the success of his Kololo concert and his increasingly prominent position in Uganda's music scene.
