Self-styled businessman and social commentator Frank Gashumba has publicly declared Malaika his only wife, saying he wants to put an end to any future confusion surrounding his marriage, children and property.
Gashumba said his decision is intended to ensure that nobody years from now emerges claiming to have been his wife or disputing his family arrangements.
According to him, Malaika is fully aware of his children and personal affairs, making their marriage a matter he wants clearly documented.
“30 years from now, nobody should come out and say they were my wife. It is on public record that Malaika is my wife,” he said.
‘I Dated Other Women Before Malaika’
Gashumba acknowledged that he had relationships with other women before settling down with Malaika but insisted those chapters of his life had already ended.
He said he believes he treated the women he dated fairly during the periods they were together and has since moved on.
Gashumba Wants No Property Wars
The businessman explained that his decision is also driven by concerns over the family and property disputes that can emerge after someone's death.
He pointed to the recent death of veteran entertainer Alex Mukulu, where disagreements among family members reportedly emerged shortly after his passing, as an example of the confusion he wants to avoid in his own family.
“I don't want to die and leave people fighting over my property because of confusion over who is my wife,” he said.
