Bank of Uganda takes over management of Imperial Bank

Bank of Uganda has taken over the management of Imperial Bank, following a decision by the Central Bank of Kenya to suspend the bank's operations in Kenya.

Central Bank Governor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile says the bank’s subsidiary in Uganda will remain operational to ensure depositors here are protected against the possible effects of the decision taken by the Central bank of Kenya.

Imperial Bank has operated in Uganda for three years.
