Musician Eddy Yaawe has weighed in on the decision by Afrigo Band to bring in Ibrah Matovu, son of the late band leader Moses Matovu, following his father’s death.

Moses Matovu died in September, after which Afrigo Band members brought Ibrah on board to take up his father’s role. The decision sparked mixed reactions among fans and supporters of the legendary group.

Yaawe, who has shared the stage with Afrigo Band on several occasions over the years, believes Ibrah deserves an opportunity to prove himself.

He, however, clarified that he is not a member of the band and has no influence over its internal decisions. He said the final judgment should be left to the fans, who will determine whether Ibrah can live up to the expectations.

“I am not a member of Afrigo Band, and I don’t know what is happening within the group. The late Moses Matovu’s son will do what he is supposed to do, and the fans will decide. He should be given the chance,” Yaawe explained.
